Wales pt.3

After Portmeirion we headed down to Barmouth, we stayed in an alright campsite that was close to the town and had a train track running through it. I really should've read the guide I had properly, as it's described as this... "Cluttered with shops selling takeaway food, buckets and spades, and pleasure beach sideshow attractions..." Something should've screamed "Blllacccckkkkppppoooolll" but it didn't and we ended up there! It wasn't too bad really, we had a really nice evening/night walking along the beach, taking photos and putting our worlds to right! I need to try and forget about the terrible meal we had, but I don't think Phil will ever forgive me for my meal ruining pickiness! I say the right things but at the wrong time was the conclusion! Anyway, the first pics were taken on Fuji Neopan 1600 on Barmouth beach, the metal detector man is called Martin Rhodes... Phil has a better photo and his story when he eventually puts it up... check it out... Here. I saw my first jellyfish too (yes, i'm sheltered)... p.s it was dead.


















On our way into Barmouth we saw a steam train, which i've never seen before... gosh I really have been living under a rock! Anyway, I found out that the train went through our capsite so the morning before we were to leave, Phil and I waited for about 15mins for it to pass for a perfect shot. The train approached, quite slowly as it's a steam train and I pressed the shutter and heard a 'beep beep beep'... i thought 'fuck' and changed it back from self-portrait back to one shot, panicked and took a shot and this is it, the shot that looks completely different to my vision... my fluke...

Wales pt.2

So the next stop on our Wales road trip was a couple of hours in a little village called Portmeirion. This little village stands out as it's an Italianate private village by the coast of mid Wales. It's apparently the brainchild of an architect called Clough Williams-Ellis who had a dream to build a village that would ehance it's surroundings rather than blend in with them! It's certainly an eye-catching place to be, as the other millions of tourists around will tell you (there were far too many of them, patience was definately the key to getting a decent photo). You wouldn't know it from my photos but it was a very colourful place... it's also still lived in, which is suprising with the amount of tourists that were trotting around in wanderment!

Wales pt.1

There's my sexy boyfriend above!! :) So we decided to have a holiday in Wales together, travelling around and camping, I've never been on a camping holiday before and it was great!
We did start off in Bangor however at Phil's aunties house for 3 nights! It was nice, I was introduced to pictionary (yes, I am sheltered)! Phil's aunty has been sufferring with back problems for a couple of years now, and discovered that a way to keep the pain at bay was to swim, she's since become obsessed with it, especially swimming in the sea and lakes and pretty much anywhere where there is water. We went on a swim with her, unfortunately I can't remember the name of the beach but the first three photos were taken there!
The rest were taken at Pardarn Valley which was beautiful and included a Slate Museum which made all of us sick of the sight of slate and the non colour of grey. All the photos were shot on Kodak 400CN which is processed in C41 chemicals, I wonder if this is why I found them a little difficult to scan but nevermind... Enjoy!

Bradgate Park.

It was a nice sunny (for the most part) day and my boyfriend and I went to Bradgate Country Park which is near Loughborough. It's absolutly massive and I got a little snap happy, I don't know why, I'm not very into landscapes and I think it shows, I'm not the best at them. These scans are quite bad too, they surprisingly look better on the prints that I got, especially the colour one!! The colour one was shot on Kodak colour plus 200 and the monochrome ones are shot on Fuji Neopan 400, processed C-41. Obviously some of the shots aren't landscapes and were shot with a Close-up +4 filter.

Wollaton Park.

This is inspired by my boyfriend and his animations, although this one is nowhere near as good as his. See his at here: Philip Formby Visuals This was shot at Wollaton Park on Kodak Colour Plus 200.

Inspired by shoes, especially Irregular Choice and Guy Bourdain! Bit of a quick working out of ideas that are floating around in my head!
