Lifestyle.

I've never really done any lifestyle photography before, just this one image for my friends portfolio, and at Saul Isaac, that's one of the services they provide, using natural and off camera flash lighting. So, i took it upon myself to do some at Wollaton Park, I thought it'd be good practice, especially since I bought a speedlite transmitter to play around with some off camera flash. This is Jen, she's a friends girlfriend, we know each other obviously but not very well and this is the only time we've spent alone together, I'm trying to push myself out of my comfort zone and striking up interesting conversation with people I don't know very well I can find quite hard. I figure it's time to make the most of this opportunity that I've been given at Saul Isaac and push myself more, it's the only way I'll get better.
I've assisted on two lifestyle photo shoots, both in Wollaton Park, one was a pre-wedding shoot and the other was a family of three. On the latter I took a few photos, I'm sure none of them will be used as the buttons on the cameras confused me.... there's just so many on the big dslr's!! But even so, it was nice of Dan to give me opportunity to try and get to know the camera. And on the pre-wedding shoot with Carl I learnt some off camera flash, so in this blog I've tried to put what I've learnt so far into practice, I took alot more photos and probably took longer than the guys at the studio but practice makes perfect, and Jen was a great model!!

Another Place.

So Phil and I took a little trip up to Liverpool yesterday for a Gogol Bordello gig that his aunty bought us tickets for, the gig was amazing (thank you Sara!!) To relieve the ever-so slight hangover I had we went for a stroll down to Waterloo Beach for a spot of fresh air and photography. I wasn't really aware of who Antony Gormley was, sometimes I walk around with my head in the clouds and it takes me 3 years to realise that I did actually know who he was when I took the photo above in London for his Event Horizon in 2007. Needless to say, it's not a very good photo but the ones below are (even if I do say so myself)! Here is Another Place... Enjoy!!

Jen

This is my friend Jen, I'd not seen her for a while so wondered if she'd like to pop round for a little photo shoot. Here's some of the pics I took of her! Isn't she pretty?!
Styling, make-up and photography by myself.

Nightime Contemporary Architecture Photography.

As Jon went through the cupboard at work we came across a Sigma 8mm fisheye lens, after a 5min mess about at the studio I asked the boss if I could borrow it, I've never really used one before and always been slightly annoyed at all those "cool fisheye nights out" that seem to be flying around. I instead decided to embark on a little project I like to call Nightime Contemporary Architecture Photography. Here's some interesting buildings around Nottingham City Centre. My favourite is the top one!!

I'll make you bootiful.

Ooot and abooot.

Just another weekend being all snap happy. It was a nice and sunny but bloody freezing Sunday in Wollaton Park with my digital camera.

These next 5 photos were also taken at Wollaton Park with my digital camera but this time I put Vaseline over my UV filter, then carefully wiped some of it off, clean and clear and under control, so that'd it'd make part of my photo sharp and the rest, well, not. I found it works well with very busy images and I just love the autumn colours too...
